Domain FAQ
1. Why isn't X-Tenshi updated regularly? ^ top
Real life takes priority unfortunately. X-Tenshi is a hobby for me, it is something I enjoy doing in my spare time and I hope it remains that way rather than ending up being a chore or just another job.
2. Where did my affiliate/link exchange link go? ^ top
As of 6th November 2005, I decided that affiliates who linked me on every page will have the favour returned to them
so those who did not link me on every page got moved to the
affiliates or
link exchanges page instead. To
make it fair link exchanges had to also move to the links page since affiliation is harder to get.
3. Can you teach me how you did your php/mysql/html code? ^ top
I can't simply due to time constraints. However if I do have the link to the tutorial I followed, I can point you to the site. Unfortunately I've got too much going on to have the time to teach you how to code. I've learnt most of my coding with online tutorials so if you want to learn, try searching up some tutorials or check out the
credits page for some helpful sites.
For You Section FAQ
1. Can we request something from you to put up in the for you section? ^ top
I'm happy to receive requests for more of a particular type of graphic or more of a particular series to be used in graphics. However there is no guarantee it will be done. But I will read them and keep them in mind when I create new graphics.
2. Can I re-distribute your layouts or graphics? ^ top
I'll probably say no from now on. I use to allow it if people contacted me but I've decided to keep all my work within my
own site. Course there are circumstances where I will allow it.
3. I've caught someone using your graphics without credit! ^ top
If that's the case then please go to the contact form --
and provide me with some form of proof (e.g. site url plus screenshot etc). I'll be forever grateful
to you for notifying me!
4. Do you take custom layout requests? ^ top
Unfortunately no, sorry! Reason being, often my custom layouts don't turn out as good as layouts that I just make for fun. As a result I don't take custom layout requests.
5. Can you teach me how you did the effect on [insert graphic here]? ^ top
Unfortunately no. Usually I wouldn't mind but I just don't have the time to teach anyone how
I did my graphics or layouts. My advice would be to go look up online tutorials. That's where I've
learnt most of my designing.
6. Why can't I open the zips I've downloaded from X-Tenshi? ^ top
You need a password to open the zips. Please read over the
Terms of Use carefully. The password to open the zips can be found there. If you can't find it then you're probably skimming the terms.
Fun Stuff Section FAQ
1. What are tokens? ^ top
Token idea was born on the 20th April 2006, but wasn't introduced to X-Tenshi till the 29th April 2006. Tokens are for those who didn't actually win a prize but were runner ups in my contests. They are also
awarded to people who participate in the token activities. I will most likely make an activity every
month or so.
2. What type of tokens are there? ^ top
There are three types of tokens:
- Aki which equals to 3 tokens
- Haru which equals to 2 tokens
- Yuki which equals to 1 token
You can preview the tokens by clicking
here
3. What can I do with the tokens? ^ top
Tokens can be used to redeem certain things from the prize list. If you want something that isn't on the
prize list you may suggest it through the
contact page and I will consider it.
If successful, you will find your suggestion placed on the prize list.
4. How do I redeem my prize? ^ top
Under the fun stuff navigation you will see
Token Redeem where a prize list can be found and the form for redeeming a prize. A token page will be created for you when you win tokens. This page will act as you 'wallet/purse' for these tokens.
5. Can I give my tokens away? ^ top
Tokens are not transferable meaning you can not give them to other people. If you do the token
automatically becomes void.
6. Why was this token idea born? ^ top
This idea was born when I realised how many people wanted domain names and had all these things in their wishlists. With that many people wanting something I couldn't possibly offer free domains and things to certain people and not others. So this idea was born where the people interested will make things that I want for my site (i.e. offer a service to X-Tenshi) and I will pay them with tokens which can be redeemed for whatever they want.
7. Where has the token section gone? ^ top
As of 20th Jan 2008, the token section was taken down due to time constraints which didn't allow me
to run both contests as well as the token activity. Those who received tokens may redeem them off me
by the end of March 2008. This section may come back in future.
Hosting Section FAQ
1. Can you host me? ^ top
Depends on what type of site you have and how much space etc. Head over to the hosting section -
click here - for more information.
2. Will hosting ever be up again? ^ top
Depends if someone leaves and a spot becomes available or if I upgrade to the next plan then yes hosting will re-open.
3. I want to cancel my hosting with you. ^ top
To cancel, simply just contact me and tell me. I will give you time to back up the files you want to keep.
And if you're moving to another host, I can keep your subdomain up for a month so you can re-direct your visitors
to your new site.
4. Can I change from Subdomain hosting to Domain hosting? ^ top
If you've registered your own domain then sure why not. I can make the changes, just contact me with
the domain name and your current subdomain and the quota you want.
5. Do you sponsor? ^ top
Yes I do sponsor.. but this is currently
invite only. Best way to get my attention is to comment
or tag my site. I visit every site that comments and tags so if you comment and I go to your site and see
you need sponsoring I will contact you and ask whether you need sponsoring. I want to sponsor sites who
I think need it and deserve it.
6. Do you buy me a domain if I apply for domain hosting? ^ top
X-Tenshi offers to host your domain meaning you have to purchase your own domain name and X-Tenshi will give you webspace. The only time X-Tenshi will buy a domain and also offer hosting is to people who have won a contest held or sponsored by X-Tenshi.
7. What is the difference between subdomain and domain hosting? ^ top
Domain hosting:
- for people who have their own domain name
- own cpanel
- can create subdomains
- can choose to host other people
- set webspace and bandwidth
Subdomain hosting:
-
yoursubdomain.x-tenshi.com address
- set webspace
- shared bandwidth with other subdomain hostees
Note that domain names have to be paid for yearly whereas subdomains are created off domains which means they are free and do not require renewal each year.

Open your functions.inc.php in your cutenews/inc folder. Locate line 496:

3. Commenters Plug? ^ top
You can get it from here --
FI-DD's CuteNews Hacks. When I got the mod from this site there were some code errors (may be fixed now) which were easily fixed (missing semi-colon etc), so if it doesn't work the first go check over the line in the error message. Alternatively you can email me for the two files and I'll send them out to you.
